Halls soft drinks returning to SA shelves

Many South Australians will remember Halls, famed for its Lemon Twist, Fruita and Stonie Ginger Beer drinks.

Founded by George Hall in 1849, the popular brand has a rich South Australian history that lasted more than 100 years, before it was bought by Coca Cola and then discontinued in 2000.

Now, the South Australian Bottling Company is returning Halls to retail shelves in the coming months, starting with the classic flavours of Lemonade, Lemon Twist and Fruita.

Production at the manufacturer's Willunga bottling facility is being supported by a $500,000 State Government contribution through the Thriving Regions Fund – a $15 million fund that supports our regions, regional industries and communities.Image of the iconic Halls soft drink cans

South Australian Bottling Company CEO Cameron Ballard said the government funding was instrumental in fast tracking the brand's growth.

“The level of public interest and support surrounding the comeback of Halls soft drinks has been quite unbelievable, and extremely humbling,” Mr Ballard said.

“We are beyond excited to now be in production and nearing the day that South Australians can finally enjoy Halls once again.

“We are immensely grateful for the contribution pledged through Thriving Regions Fund.”

The brand is keeping its nostalgic roots, launching first with 330ml classic glass bottles, with the 1-litre varieties to come.
